Our Dog Friendly Homes

Going on holidays when you have pets can get expensive when you add in boarding costs, so why not bring your dog along with you and stay in these pet friendly holiday homes on the Southern Gold Coast. They’re equipped for your furry family members and all close to beaches you can let them play on.

  1. Rigi

This dog friendly home is on Currumbin Beachfront, has an outdoor shower to shower off sandy pups and a large fenced backyard. The area in front of the house is not an off leash beach, but dogs can be down there on a leash.

2. Kirra Views

This unit overlooking Kirra is suitable for small dogs. The beaches around here all on-leash beaches. The perfect spot for you and your pups.

3. Coastal House

A family home tucked in away from the Gold Coast Highway in Palm Beach. Fully fenced (except for when the garage door is opening up) with grass areas to play and rest. The beach just down the road near the pirate park is the best dog off-leash beach in our area.

4. Palm Beach Villa

This townhouse, also just off the Gold Coast Highway in Palm Beach is another good pet friendly holiday home option. Fully fenced yard around the home, it’s suitable for smaller or dogs that don’t need too much space. The dog beach is the closest and best spot to let them run free.

Our beaches and public spaces are largely on-leash areas for dogs. We do have animal control regularly visiting beaches and handing out fines, so we recommend keeping them on leash when not in an off-leash area. Most of our beaches have dog poo bag outlets, but we suggest always taking your own.

Our favourite off-leash spots to take dogs are:

  • The dog beach at Palm Beach Parklands – it’s on the far side of the creek (pretty much just follow the dogs, there’s always someone else there)
  • Schusters Park – this spot has on and off-leash spots with a creek and large grassy areas for dogs to run off huge amounts of energy
  • Tallebudgera off-leash dog island – This is accessed from Elanora and is set out like an agility park with sandy spots + water areas.
  • Tallebudgera Beach – at the far end of Tallebudgera beach – from Tallebudgera surf club north, it becomes off leash dog friendly.
