6 things you have to do while you’re on the Gold Coast

  1. Go to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary – it’s the spot for your Australian animal hit, they have the Tree-top Challenge and littlies LOVE the train. They also have a small waterpark and decent playground in the park too.
  2. Get down to Currumbin Creek to the Boatshed (right next to Tarte Bakery) and hire a stand up paddle board or a kayak and cruise the creek.

3. Head to a farmers market – there’s the Currumbin Community Markets on Thursday mornings and Palm Beach Farmers Markets + Burleigh Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.

4. Go to some markets. There’s The Village Markets in Burleigh and the Art + Craft Markets along the beachfront – alternating locations along the GC so check their website.

5. Go for a walk through the Beree Badalla Reserve along Currumbin Creek. It’s a path through the mangroves + it’s fun to swim here when it’s super high tide – don’t wear shoes if it’s high tide though, the water comes up through the boardwalk.

6. Drive out to Currumbin Valley. There is a cafe + bathhouse out at Ground by the Eco Village. Or head a bit further to the Currumbin Rock Pools, Harvest (farm store) or as far as the road will go to Cougal Cascades.
