Start your day at Seadog on James Street. It’s tiny, it’s busy, and it’s brilliant. Serving strong espresso and flaky pastries out of a vintage caravan, it’s a favourite among locals.

For a sit-down breakfast, Palm Springs Burleigh combines Californian vibes with Aussie flavours. Think corn fritters, crispy bacon, and fresh-pressed juice with a splash of sunshine.

A short drive to the next suburb over in Miami is Paddock Bakery – amazing pastries, great brunch options, cute cottage garden aesthetic.

Long Lunches to Remember

You can’t talk about Burleigh without mentioning Rick Shores. Famous for its Moreton Bay bug rolls and front-row ocean views, it’s one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic dining experiences.

Just upstairs, Burleigh Pavilion is perfect for something more relaxed—fish tacos, cold beers, and uninterrupted sea views.

Once the sun goes down, Burleigh keeps the energy up. We love Hail Mary for easy Mexican dishes + delish margaritas, or Light Years, a vibey, modern Asian restaurant that’s as fun as it is flavour-packed.

Currumbin has a quieter vibe but don’t let that fool you—this peaceful beachside suburb is full of flavour, perfect for a relaxed bite after a swim or a scenic lunch with your crew.

Kick off your day at The Salt Mill (Currumbin Beachfront location) with a smoothie bowl or avocado toast overlooking the waves. The coffee is consistently top-tier, and the laid-back vibe is hard to beat. Barefoot Barista is another top spot along the beachfront. You’ll find that Barefoot doubles up as Bruce’s once the sun goes down – head there for drinks and tapas.

Lunch in The Valley

Head out to Pasture + Co out at Ground in Curumbin Valley for your hit of fresh mountain air and cute kangaroos while you eat. Kid-friendly and good meals.

For unbeatable views by the creek, head to Tarte Beachhouse – situated right on Currumbin Creek, there’s a table service restaurant or a more relaxed vibe outside. Their burgers and chicken sandwich are a team fave and so is the lemonade + iced tea.

Sweet Spots

Treats or coffee from Bread Social are a must. All their pastries, sausage rolls and pies are made onsite and are sourdough based (that makes them healthier right!?) and perfect to eat in or takeaway. Their coffee is also amazing.

Once a sleepy neighbour, Palm Beach has become a food lover’s playground, with funky cafés, cool bars, and bold, multicultural eats lining the streets.

Start your Palm Beach adventure with a visit to Barefoot Barista – a long-time local hero known for artisan coffee, big breakfasts and a menu that balances indulgence with healthy twists. And yep they have 2 locations – Currumbin + Palmy.

Balboa Italian is the ultimate date night pick – fairy-lit interiors, handmade pasta, woodfired pizza and a wine list worth exploring. If you’re feeling tropical, head to Las Palmas for fresh Latin American flavours and share-style plates.

Frida Sol nails the Mexican fiesta vibe – rooftop views, spicy margaritas, and tacos you’ll dream about later.

The Collective is a go-to for group hangs or families that can’t decide what they feel like – five restaurants under one roof, from Greek to American-style burgers, all served in a buzzing courtyard with table service and cocktails on tap.
